Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health Expands Capacity for Trauma Treatment

Kudos to one of Multiplying Connection's Partner systems, the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services (DBHIDS) for its efforts to build capacity for trauma treatment services. In January 2011, DBHIDS awarded funds to train staff of 17 local behavioral health agencies in two evidence based trauma treatment models.

Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Mental Retardation Services appoints manager to lead trauma informed system transformation

The City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health/Mental Retardation Services (DBH/MRS) is developing and implementing a strategic plan that will usher the entire system towards being trauma-informed. To accomplish this goal, the Department has convened The Trauma Advisory Group (TTAG) which is comprised of professionals, people in recovery, and family members in order to ensure input from a cross-section of stakeholders. TTAG will be the driving force that will guide this trauma-informed transformation movement. Dr.
